I believe quite a few famous people finish there careers in Eastenders after acting for many decades. They fit in and feel at home with a fantastic and friendly cast and crew. Eastenders is not cursed as characters die from old age and it is a natural kind of progression. Characters that have been murdered in real life is just awful, and characters that have commited suicide must have suffered some serious mental problems. I will now discover the latest characters that star in Eastenders..2023.

EastEnders will see James Bye temporarily bow out in upcoming scenes amidst Lily Slater's baby's drama. The actor has been playing the role of Martin Fowler since 2014, and in a new episode, Martin leaves Walford for a while after the shock revelation that his 12-year-old adoptive daughter Lily (Lillia Turner) is pregnant with Ricky Jr's (Frankie Day) baby. Fans know that Martin has been supportive of Lily and that her pregnancy has nothing to do with his decision. The market stall holder simply jumped at the opportunity of a well-paid job in Turkey. Though he'll only stay away from Albert Square for a matter of weeks, he worries his absence may have an impact on Lily during such a delicate time. Meanwhile, the young girl's unplanned pregnancy is set to wreak havoc not just on the Fowler and Slater households, who are still wrapping their heads around it, but also on the Brannings. Upon discovering that Ricky Jr is the father and is helping Lily keep the baby, Jack (Scott Maslen) tries to push abortion as a solution, but Stacey (Lacey Turner) firmly rejects it. Will the families reach an agreement for their children's sake? 25th January 2023

EastEnders bosses were impressed with child actress Lillia Turner back in 2020, when they cast her as Stacey Slater’s daughter Lily in the soap. And now she is central to a huge story as Lily is pregnant.

Lillia is 13 years old in real life, just one year older than her soapland character. She made her EastEnders debut back in 2019, when she starred in two episodes as Alyssa. Lillia then landed the role of Lily in September 2020 and has remained on the soap ever since. The actress tends to keep out of the limelight in real life and not much is known about her family or previous acting work. She clearly impressed EastEnders bosses during her first short-lived stint on the show and she and on-screen mum Lacey, 34, have proven to be an iconic mum-and-daughter soap duo. Lillia has now landed her first major storyline in EastEnders with Lacey by her side.

EastEnders star Scott Maslen has a famous DJ wife and a son who looks just like him. Scott Maslen, who plays Jack Branning in EastEnders, is married to famous DJ Estelle Rubio. The pair share a son called Zack who is the spitting image of him. The actor is best known for his portrayal as DS Phil Hunter in ITV's The Bill and Jack Branning on the BBC's flagship soap EastEnders. He also took part in the 2010 series of Strictly Come Dancing and the 2015 series of Celebrity MasterChef. The 49-year-old star of the Albert Square based BBC One soap is married to Estelle Maslen (née Rubio), who is the mother of his son Zak Alexander Maslen.

Scott Maslen plays the character of Jack Branning.

Eastenders' Jack Branning is a man you can spot a mile away. Not only is he a talented actor, but he is also very very handsome. Since 2007, the character has bedded most of the residents of Albert Square over the years. Fans of the show would probably argue Jack met the love of his life in Ronnie Mitchell, who met a tragic end with her sister Roxy after they drowned in a pool on the former's wedding night. It was dramatic. These days Jack is cracking on with Denise Fox (Diana Parish) and has even asked her to marry him, although Denise's daughter looks set to torpedo the marriage with a bit of seduction.

Ricky Mitchell is in the middle of a huge EastEnders storyline after it was revealed that he is the father of Lily Slater's baby. The pair are about to find themselves at the centre of a Walford storm when the truth is exposed because this is no normal soap pregnancy storyline due to the fact the parents are both just 12 years old.

The plot twist came as a shock at New Year when the Slater family ended up in hospital following a carbon monoxide leak at their home. But while everyone was thankfully okay, doctors discovered Lily was pregnant after doing a routine ultrasound and an investigation into what happened was launched.

Phil's most prominent storylines include his battles with alcoholism and addiction; suffering from cirrhosis of the liver; various criminal dealings; having an affair with Grant's wife Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) — a storyline popularly dubbed "Sharongate"; a failed marriage to Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth); a longstanding rivalry with his tormented stepson and Kathy's eldest child, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt); sparking numerous feuds; relationship problems; seeking to avenge the death of Sharon's adoptive brother and later husband Dennis Rickman (Nigel Harman) by confronting his gangland killer, Johnny Allen (Billy Murray), in the "Get Johnny Week" storyline; becoming a prime suspect in the murder of his uncle Archie (Larry Lamb) (see "Who Killed Archie?"); developing an addiction to crack cocaine that sparks the events of The Queen Vic Fire Week; his ongoing struggle to bond with his children Ben (Max Bowden) and Louise (Tilly Keeper), and discovering that his wife Sharon has had an affair with and later fallen pregnant by his daughter Louise's fiancé Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters). One of the most culturally significant storylines featuring the character aired in 2001 and was dubbed "Who Shot Phil?". The events saw Phil shot in a whodunit mystery, with the assailant eventually revealed to be his former girlfriend and Louise's mother Lisa Shaw (Lucy Benjamin). The "Who Shot Phil?" storyline captured viewer and media interest and the culprit-reveal episode was watched by 22 million viewers.

Sam is the youngest child and only daughter of Peggy (Jo Warne/Barbara Windsor/Jaime Winstone) (George Russo played Eric Mitchell.). Eric spoiled Sam and treated her like a princess, whilst Sam idolised her brothers Phil (Steve McFadden/Daniel Delaney) and Grant (Ross Kemp/Teddy Jay). By the time Eric died when Sam was ten, she was subsequently on the receiving end of her two older brothers’ heavy-handed paternalism.

EastEnders' Sam Mitchell could leave Walford next week on the BBC soap April 2023, as spoilers confirm a life-changing phone call could change everything. The character made her big return to Walford last year, not having been on screen for six years. Next week, Sam gets a phone call that could change everything and that, depending on what she decides, could pave the way for a departure. The news obviously doesn't go down well with her family, as her son Ricky Mitchell, 12, recently learned he was going to be a dad.

Danniella Westbrook (born 5th November 1973) is an English actress, better known for originating the role of Sam Mitchell in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, playing her on-and-off from 1990 to 2000 and 2009 to 2016.

1_EASTENDERS.jpg

Danniella Westbrook has claimed EastEnders bosses didn't tell her they had recast her Walford character Sam Mitchell. The actress originated the role of outspoken Sam in 1990 and played her on and off until 2016, but actress Kim Medcalf took on the part between 2002 and 2005 amid Danniella's widely publicised troubles with drugs. The BBC has now decided it's time Sam returned to Albert Square - but have chosen to bring back Kim instead of Danniella. The actress told The Sun she was "shocked" that she wasn't told about it. She said: "I've been known as Sam Mitchell for 32 years. But nobody at EastEnders contacted me to let me know they had recast Kim in the role. There wasn't even an email to my agent. “I was shocked because they do have a responsibility to tell me and someone should have." "The bosses have seen me go through addiction and they have no idea where I am today," she continued. "Thankfully I'm OK. But if I hadn't been it could have had very serious consequences for me."

She suffered damage to her nasal septum as the result of her cocaine use, which was well-documented in the 1990s and 2000s. The actress's face was also damaged due to osteoporosis making her bones weaken and in recent months she has shared that she is going through reconstructive surgery. She recently revealed she has high hopes for the future, writing on Instagram: "Can't wait for all my surgery to be done… will be back to my best and fighting fit and next year I will be 50!" "Bring it on… I'm ready… More than ready," she went on. "I'm ready for a full transformation physically. I've spent a lot of time alone the last six months. I've been working on myself and my spiritual side has already begun evolving, I've cut the deadbeats and energy draining people out of my life. "And I am ready to get busy living… And busy working."

EastEnders fans have been left in tears after a moving scene between Freddie and Jean Slater, as he confided he had been bullied by a teacher at school. Jean upset Freddie after implying he wasn't intelligent, following a disastrous evening involving two dates, with Jean later apologising to her loved one. The youngster confided that his intelligence had been mocked at school, telling Jean, while sat on the sofa: "It's hard for me to focus, it's all this rubbish running around my mind, like fireworks, made it impossible for me to know what we were doing, so I chose to mess around instead. "Mr Hawthorne in geography, he would make me stand in front of the class and repeat what we were meant to be doing he made me write on the whiteboard, 'I am lazy, I am destructive, I am stupid', and I am not a man, it's just hard." In a heart-warming scene Jamie then told Freddie how special he is, and how her life is better since he arrived in Walford. Many viewers were touched by the episode, and some thought Freddie could be diagnosed as neurodivergent, after he spoke of his school days.

Whitney Dean (also Carter) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Shona McGarty.

Brazier was born on 2nd June 2003 at Portland Hospital. He is the son of Jeff Brazier (Born 1979), a television presenter and Jade Goody (1981–2009), a television personality who was known for appearing on the reality series Big Brother. BRIT-Awards-2005-Isis-Aftershow-Party.

2nd April 2023 - Bobby Brazier was left in tears after some tough scenes on EastEnders. The actor - who is the son of Jade Goody and Jeff Brazier - will tackle a tricky plot in the coming weeks, which will see his character Freddie Slater battle with some bad memories from his past. When Jean Slater says something to him about being stupid, he is triggered by what happened between him and a teacher at school and goes back to confront them. Bobby admits the scenes were very difficult to film, and he was left in tears after them. He explained he was glad to see Freddie giving some emotion as well as he's usually got a comedic element to his character. He said: "I was filming with Freddie's Nanny Jean and we were sat on the sofa afterwards, and it took us a minute to shake off the tears and sadness. It's interesting as I've mainly been doing comedy, but soon we're going to see some emotion from Freddie."

Bobby also explained how there will be some twists in the storyline. "Freddie used to get called 'thick' at school and made to feel stupid all the time, so what Jean says really hurts him. It forces him to confront things from his past and give the teacher who was horrible to him a bit of a talking to," he added. "Freddie feels good for doing it, initially, but this is just the beginning of the story." When Freddie arrived on the Square, bosses teased that he would cause quite the drama when he turns up. He was described as a "modern day lad" with a "sensitive soul" - but there was also promise of "chaos and mischief" too.

Whitney’s father Nathan Dean died in a road accident when his partner Bianca Jackson was heavily pregnant and Bianca took on the responsibility of raising Whitney. Bianca had adopted Whitney during her relationship with Nathan as Bianca was the only mother Whitney had ever known as her biological mother walked out of her life when she was a toddler and wanted nothing to do with Whitney. Despite Whitney not being her biological daughter, Bianca doesn’t treat her any different then her other children and refers to herself as Whitney’s mother.

Grant Mitchell

Grant Mitchell is a fictional character from the British soap opera EastEnders, played by Ross Kemp.

Bianca has been featured in storylines including affairs, feuds, bereavements, family problems, spina bifida and abortion; two problematic marriages to Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen) – the first of which ended after it transpired that she had a previous affair with her mother's boyfriend Dan Sullivan (Craig Fairbrass); her troubled and dysfunctional reconciliation with her estranged biological father David Wicks (Michael French); her friendship with Tiffany Mitchell (Martine McCutcheon); feuding against Tiffany's volatile husband Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp); embarking on tug-of-love for Ricky's affections against his first wife and Grant's younger sister Sam (Danniella Westbrook); discovering her 15-year-old stepdaughter, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty), is being sexually abused by her fiancé, Tony King (Chris Coghill), and his subsequent arrest for paedophilia; and forming a relationship with Terry Spraggan (Terry Alderton).

Dan Sullivan is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Craig Fairbrass.

Throughout the course of his 1990s duration, Grant Mitchell established himself as one of the show's most prominent characters. He was portrayed as a tough persona, wildly known for his fiery temper and his tendency to resort to violence. Despite this, however, his family is important to him – particularly his relationship with his older brother Phil (Steve McFadden). Known as the "Mitchell brothers", Grant and Phil have become household names in the United Kingdom – due to their association with the stereotypical black leather jacket wearing bald and brutal thug. They have been parodied even in adverts where their gruff, tough talking, cockney accents have been impersonated.

The past came back to him with a blast when he encountered Carol Jackson, his teenage sweetheart, and the girl he left pregnant as a teenager… never knowing if she had given birth to his child or not. This proved problematic when he started falling for Carol’s oldest daughter, Bianca… as it turns out, Carol did have David’s baby, and Bianca was that baby!

Martine McCutcheon

Tiffany Mitchell (also Raymond) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Martine McCutcheon from 1995 until 1999. The character was created by writer Tony Jordan. She was introduced as a school friend of Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) in January 1995. In 1996, after getting herself a job as barmaid of the soap's pub, The Queen Victoria, Tiffany got pregnant by former pub landlord Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp). They latwr started a relationship and got married, having a daughter called Courtney. However, the relationship suffered a lot due to Grant's constant mistreatment of Tiffany. The final blow occurred towards the end of 1998 when Grant had an affair with Louise Raymond, Tiffany's mother. Tiffany was a prominent and popular character during her tenure. McCutcheon quit the role at the end of 1998 in order to pursue a musical career. Producers made the decision to kill the character off, an act that McCutcheon publicly criticised as she had hoped to return at some stage. A book released in December 1998, documenting Tiffany's time in the soap, was a number-one bestseller.

Tiffany has been described as a "tart with a heart". According to McCutcheon, Tiffany's original character outline, as described by the casting directors, portrayed her as a "feisty and quite bitchy character, quite worldly."McCutcheon has claimed that she partly based her portrayal of Tiffany on her own mother, Jenny; her mother gave her advice on how to play the character. McCutcheon claims her mother told her "to wear the dangly earrings with the short skirts and the low, V-neck tops, because that's what the barmaids wore. She was very open about it all. She'd say you need to lean over and say in a breathy but firm voice, 'Hello! What d'you fancy?' And, hopefully, they'll say, 'You', and you'll get free drinks all night." McCutcheon has described Tiffany as "fun and sassy". She added, "She has also got a lot of her morals wrong and she's a bit back to front. But she means well!"

He was the partner of established character Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer), and a father-figure to her four children. Tony sexually abused Bianca's stepdaughter, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty), and began grooming her school-friend Lauren Branning (Madeline Duggan), before his predatory nature was uncovered and he was arrested for his crimes. Tony appeared between 12 September and 12 December 2008 and returned in December 2009 to stand trial.

The child sexual abuse storyline marked the first time the subject matter had been broached in a UK soap opera, and was researched and developed with advice and approval from the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. The abusive nature of Tony and Whitney's relationship resulted in over 200 complaints being made to the BBC and television regulatory body Ofcom by members of the public, with the storyline deemed "one of the darkest and most disturbing storylines EastEnders has ever attempted" by The Mirror's Beth Neil. The NSPCC however praised the storyline for "helping to raise awareness of the hidden nature of sexual abuse". The storyline also gained EastEnders a Royal Television Society Programme Award in March 2009 in the Soap and Continuing Drama category.

EASTENDERS Joey Branning actor David Witts has kickstarted his new career ten years after quitting the soap for Hollywood. The 30-year-old played the hunk in the BBC show between 2012 and 2013. After a year of playing the estranged son of Derek Branning, David decided to pursue other things. The soap star later moved to the US after being signed by a top agent. Joey then had to deal with the aftermath of his sister Alice getting involved with Janine Butcher and Michael Moon. He left the Square to live with his mum. In 2016 he played Craig in American teen drama Recovery Road. He also starred in Wings, An Unpleasant Surprise, The Devil's Hand and I Ship It. Pete Beale is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Peter Dean. He makes his first appearance in the programme's first episode, on 19 February 1985. The character was introduced by Tony Holland, one of the creators of EastEnders; he was based on a member of Holland's family. Pete is featured in the soap for eight years as the local fruit and veg trader of Albert Square; he is a member of the original focal clan in the serial, the Beales and Fowlers. Pete is portrayed as a macho and somewhat insensitive individual who struggles to cope with emotion. Pete was axed from the soap in 1993 and departed in May that year after over eight years on-screen. The character was killed off-screen later that year following Peter Dean's public criticism of the BBC.

Peter Dean went public with his criticism of the show, believing there was a lot more his character had to offer and that the failure to come up with decent material for Pete was due to unimaginative scriptwriters.

Discussing Pete's demise, Gillian Taylforth who played his ex-wife Kathy Beale, has stated that although she and actor Peter Dean had problems "now and then", she found it really hard when he left, and that Pete's death was "an end of an era for EastEnders." The tankard that Pete was often seen drinking from in pub scenes was allegedly so popular that Peter Dean reported it was stolen twice by fans and he had to replace it on both occasions.

Pete Beale was initially scheduled to be a short-term character. It had been decided way in advance that the big New Year cliffhanger of 1986 would be the killing-off of a character and the chosen person had to have the greatest effect on the remaining characters. Pete Beale was the obvious choice as his death would leave Kathy a widow and Ian (his son) would have to take over as head of the house. Lou was his mother, Pauline his sister and Den Watts his best friend, and everyone knew him from the fruit and veg stall, so storylines were planned in which Pete would have a heart-attack; a shock tactic to revive interest in the show after the excitement of Christmas. At the last minute, Julia Smith got "cold feet" and decided that Pete was too useful a character to lose so early in the programme's history; like Pauline he was considered a linchpin character. A new shock storyline was needed and so it was decided to introduce Den's mistress Jan Hammond into the show instead.

Dean-Wicks-played-by-Matt-Di-Angelo.jpg

Linda Henry has been delighting us EastEnders fans since 2006. It somehow wouldn’t be the same in Walford without hard-nut Shirley Carter stomping around in her knee-length black boots, getting on everyone’s case, especially if they cross her or the Carters. When we first met Shirley, she was the ex-wife of Kevin Wicks (Phil Daniels), desperately wanting to get back into the lives of her adult children, Dean and Carly. She soon fell hard for Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) — the only person who could mess her around and get away with it. It was a poisonous relationship and she later ended up shooting him! Then her unruly family, the Carters, arrived in 2015 and she now protects them like a cockney lioness. Soon, however, in a complete shock, Shirley confessed the big family secret that she was Mick’s mother, not his sister, and she later confronted her rapist son, Dean. Everyone loves Shirley’s fights, fisticuffs, and rows which are part and parcel of a great EastEnders episode!

Mantis Shrimp-EYED EastEnders viewers spot a major blunder as Dean Wicks appears in the BBC soap after seven years away. The former soap villain sexually assaulted Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in 2014 in a harrowing storyline after he became obsessed with his sister-in-law. Dean (Matt DiAngelo) left Walford for good in 2016 after confessing the horrendous assault. His dad Buster paid him to never return again, to Shirley's anguish. Dean hasn't been mentioned since - until Monday's 38th anniversary episode 20th Feb 2023. Linda was left gobsmacked when Carly posted a photo of Shirley, and beside her is Shirley's younger son Dean's reflection can be seen in the mirror. After seeing the photo, a shaken Linda retreats into the back of the Vic and breaks down. A concerned Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) rushed to comfort her. Linda soon understood that Shirley would want to be with her son Dean after losing her other son Mick. With Shirley returning, could Dean also be making a return to Albert Square?

Kevin Wicks is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Phil Daniels. Kevin made his first appearance on February 17, 2006, when he was introduced onto the show alongside his two children, Carly (Kellie Shirley) and Deano (Matt Di Angelo). He is presented as the nephew of a long-running character, Pat Butcher (Pam St. Clement). Kevin, a wheeler-dealer, is described as caring, sensitive, and a cheeky chap. While some actors wish to return to the long running soap some choose to call it a day..It was announced on August 18th, 2007, that Daniels had decided not to renew his contract. This resulted in his character, Kevin, being killed off in a car crash on December 31, 2007, in the show. He is last seen in the next episode, broadcast on January 1, 2008, when his wife Denise Fox (Diane Parish) goes to visit his corpse.

Carly Wicks

Carly Wicks is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Kellie Shirley, and by Michaela Stephen in a home movie the Wicks family watched on 23 April 2007. She made her first appearance on 17th February 2006. Carly was axed from the serial after her on-screen father Kevin (Phil Daniels) quit. Carly is characterised as a tomboy who enjoys an active sex life. One scene sparked complaints from viewers who felt it inappropriate. She is also portrayed as having a dysfunctional relationship with her mother, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry). Carly departed on-screen on 4 January 2008, when she goes travelling, an exit storyline that Shirley felt was a fitting end to the character. Shirley reprised her role as Carly on 6th September 2012 for a "short, dramatic storyline" lasting two episodes, thus she departed on 7 September 2012.

Linda Carter (played by Kellie Bright) lost the love of her life Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) in a Christmas Day tragedy. She has spent the year so far trying to move forward with her life in Walford, but in upcoming EastEnders scenes, she will have to relive her trauma as Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) decides on her plea from prison. Her friends attempt to help her, but she is later left heartbroken when she overhears a drunken revelation from Alfie Moon (Shane Richie). In scenes of the BBC soap yet to air, Linda frets as she waits for an update from her lawyer on the status of Janine’s plea.

eastenders-linda-carter-alfie-moon-1666272308.jpg

She begins to stress about the potential of having to go through a trial. Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Alfie rally around Linda and convince her to attend the gym opening in an effort to distract her. At the gym, Linda and Alfie bond over their shared history with boxing, and Linda later gets an update on Janine. Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) and Alfie later drink together in The Vic as they speak about their respective failed love lives. The tipsy paid share a joke about his relationship with Linda, unaware that she is listening to them. Upset, Linda later confronts Alfie about his remarks - will he be able to explain himself?

alfie-moon-linda-carter-eastenders-64130848895d3.jpg

Last year 2022, fans were convinced Linda and Alfie would start a romance after both of their exes had moved on. Linda's marriage to Mick had crumbled and he became engaged to Janine, while Alfie's attempts to win back ex-wife Kat Slater failed. Last year, Linda was stood up by a date and Alfie stepped in to enjoy a few drinks with her. Some fans began to assume it wouldn't be long before the two began dating properly. However, their predictions never came to fruition and it seems Alfie and Linda are happy being friends.

0_EastEnders-fans-see-Keanu-dead-foreshadowing.jpg

Keanu Taylor is so focused on rekindling an old romance in new scenes of EastEnders that he almost forgets about his long-standing feud with one of Albert Square's key players. As fans of the BBC soap know, the character played by Danny Walters and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) go way back. With bad blood running between the two men and Phil working closely with Keanu's ex Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), it may be only a matter of time before things escalate."I don't really think Keanu thinks too much of Phil," the actor said. "What I mean by that is Keanu's focus and energy is on his family.

Danny Walters (born 1st June 1993) is an English actor, known for his roles as Tiger Dyke in the ITV sitcom Benidorm and Keanu Taylor in the BBC soap opera EastEnders.

Right now, Albie is the most important person to him." Walters admitted that his character can be "very irrational" and rarely thinks about the bigger picture, particularly when his family is involved. "I don't think he's too scared of Phil Mitchell but he's a father that just wants to protect and provide for his son," he said. When Sharon rejects him once again, Keanu knows he'll have to step up his game to create a family with her and Albie. Thanks to the advice of unlikely pal Sam (Kim Medcalf) and his mum Karen (Lorraine Stanley), who still firmly opposes a romance with Sharon, Keanu is ready to pull all the stops to impress his ex. "In Keanu's head, he's had the advice from Sam and Karen about how to make a relationship work," Walters said.

"During this whole scene, Keanu is blinded but also very driven by his heart and what you'll see doesn't essentially go to plan for Keanu – of course it doesn't, it's a soap so nothing ever goes to plan! "But, his heart is in the right place and his intention is quite pure and innocent and he's being quite vulnerable, which is a side to Keanu we haven't really seen." Keanu's big gesture may soften Sharon, but it isn't clear whether these two will have more than an amicable relationship at this point. Should things heat up, could Keanu be Sharon's mystery groom from the flash-forward scene?

Feeling guilty can be a drug. A powerful drug. Okay, it makes you feel bad, but at the same time, it’s an assertion that it’s your bad. Something personal. Something shameful even. In this way, guilt can be a method of control, of controlling pain. And there is nothing quite so painful for a mother than the death of her child. In Sarah Rutherford’s strongly felt new play, which is produced by Stage Traffic theatre company, guilt is only one of the many emotions explored in a story about sudden death, mourning, co-incidence, conflict, and eventual healing.
