Vansire

Vansire formed as band members Josh Augustin (vocals, synths, guitar, and drums) and Sam Winemiller (bass, guitar, and synths) were attending Century High School in Rochester, Minnesota. Augustin and Winemiller met while playing together on the school's drumline and continued to find themselves performing together through school activities (such as concert band and pit orchestra), something the duo says contributed to their creative synergy and friendship, which later helped in Vansire's formation.

In the summer of 2015, Winemiller approached Augustin after practice for the school's drumline with an idea to make a band "that sounds like Mac [DeMarco]". The pair's early recordings were made by holding instruments to the internal microphone of an iPad running GarageBand.  Augustin and Winemiller, initially unsure of what to call their new project, turned to an online random word generator which landed on "vansire", an alternative name for the Marsh Mongoose. From there, the two continued to record together in their basements, living rooms, and bedrooms under the new Vansire moniker.

IIRIS

Vesik has competed to represent Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest on three occasions. In 2008, her song "Ice-Cold Story", written by Riine Pajusaar, placed second in the Eurolaul competition. In 2010 she returned with the self-composed song "Astronaut", placing fourth in the Eesti Laul competition. In 2016, along with Cartoon, Kerli & Kristel Aaslaid she was one of the writers for "Immortality" performed by Cartoon and Kristel Aaslaid at Eesti Laul 2016. She competed with Agoh in Eesti Laul 2018 with the song “Drop That Boogie” and placed 5th in the final.

2010 was a year that rocketed Iiris into the spotlight. After the showcase festival Tallinn Music Week, Iiris got people talking. “Especially good performance and great songwriting”, said Dietmar Schwenger of the MusikWoche. Invitations from festivals like Popkomm (Germany), Musiikki & Media (Finland), The Great Escape (UK), Positivus (Latvia) and Iceland Airwaves (Iceland) followed soon.

At the beginning of 2011 Iiris became the artist of the week on MTV Iggy’s blog – “A depressingly few amount of bands have “it.” In fact, I’m pretty sure I didn’t know what “it” was, until I listened to Estonian singer/songwriter/pianist Iiris. Because whatever “it” is, she definitely has it. Iiris has the eclecticism, the smarts, the innovation, the pop sound, not to mention the adorable/pretty image to become a huge mega mega, mega star.”

Iiris was signed to EMI Finland in June 2011. Her debut album The Magic Gift Box, produced by Ago Teppand (a.k.a. Sethh), was released on 28 March 2012.

Iiris is often compared to Estonian pop singer Kerli, and they are both fans of each other.

After Universal Music Group bought EMI, Iiris has been releasing her songs on Universal Music Finland.

Data & Picard

STAR TREK: ACID PARTY

A Pogo remix of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Details below. Temba, his arms wide! In Tamarian this signifies the giving of a gift, first heard in the excellent episode Darmok. Data & Picard is my tribute to one of the greatest TV series of all time. It is an original track featuring the voices of Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) and Commander Data (Brent Spiner), accompanied by a music video I shot entirely in my living room with a green screen and lights. The track opens with the Klingon Victory Song, followed by a remix of Data singing Che Gelida Manina in the episode 'In Theory'. This episode was the first ever to be directed by Patrick Stewart and I didn't realize this until after the track was finished. I sourced the Ben Nye makeup that was used to turn Spiner into Data, and a replica of the iconic Star Fleet uniform. Unfortunately I couldn't get the contact lenses in and I could only get the uniform in red, so I spent a huge amount of time changing the colour of my eyes and uniform in post. The video was shot in Slog 4k ProRes HQ using a Sony A7SII and an Atomos Ninja Flame. Lights included 3x Arri 800w Tungstens, 2x Socanland LED banks to light the screen, and one 2000w Blonde to simulate sunlight. BIG thanks to the guys at HD Rentals in Perth for helping me out. http://www.hdrentals.tv/ Thanks to everybody for your amazing support!
